The Five Elements
We all live in different bodies and carry different biological rhythms. Stress shows up differently for each of us through digestion, sleep, skin, mood, chest tension, or a lingering sense of being “off.”
The Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) offers a simple, elegant way to make sense of these patterns. It’s not a personality label and it’s not a test that assigns you a fixed “type.” Think of it as a lens a pattern-map for noticing how balance is created, how it shifts, and how you can return.
Rooted in Oriental Philosophy of Yin and Yang, the Five Elements focuses on relationships and movement, not rigid categories. Because health is dynamic, shaped by season, sleep, food, stress, environment, and life transitions. This lens helps you listen to your body with more clarity and respond with wisdom.
Here, I share the Five Elements in a way that feels grounded, beautiful, and practical: each element’s gifts, everyday signs of imbalance, and gentle rituals for Slow Wellness for Fast Lives.
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water (木火土金水) are the Five energies that constitute the laws of change in the universe and all things.
Living in Rhythm With the Seasons
The Five Elements are not only used to understand symptoms, but to better understand patterns within the body, emotions, energy, and the changing rhythms of life.
Through consultation and observation, your constitutional tendencies and areas of imbalance are gently explored to support a more personalised approach to wellbeing.
This may include guidance around:
seasonal and element-supportive foods
nourishing teas and botanical support
simple daily rituals and restorative habits
breathwork, movement, and nervous system regulation
lifestyle practices that support balance in a sustainable way
Rather than rigid rules, the intention is to help you reconnect with your own rhythm — in a way that feels practical, grounding, and deeply supportive of everyday life.
